    alive and kickin

Hey friends, it has been many moons and I have decided to contribute rather than just be a critic or observer.  So where do I start.  Man, the world has changed quite a bit since October.  I am currently living in East Peoria at the East Peoria House of Prayer (pronounced E- Fop), and I have been so blessed in the time at the house.  Dozens of people have helped work on the house as well as given items for furniture and function.  On top of that, we have weekly prayer and worship gatherings here on Sunday evenings at 8 pm.  Young Life has starting having club in East Peoria now, and there are three other leaders working alongside me meeting kids and doing the work of the Kingdom.  The Lord is teaching me about faithfulness and time management and spending time in the secret place with Him.  I have had my patience and feelings and heart tested in many ways, and have learned from many situations.  Leading small groups within Fusion:Underground was a great season in my life where I got to explore some of the deeper things of God with my friends.  The OneThing 05 Conference at the International House of Prayer in KC, Missouri showed me how much bigger God is than me and how He is going to continue doing new and mighty things among and through His bride.  I have had the opportunity to forge and strenghten some friendships, as well as watch some dwindle away due to neglect on either side.  All in all, it has been good, but watching friends struggle and wrestle with life has been difficult.  I pray that the Lord uses this post to spark a fire in each of your hearts to go on a search for Him like never before.
    Shalom, Adam

Hello again, and peace from Morton.  I have been to a few training sessions in the recent past, and I have learned about training leaders and casting vision, setting goals, and following through.  I am somewhat scatterbrained, so following through is oftentimes the hardest part for me to actually apply.  When people ask me how East Peoria Young Life is coming along, I usually tell them slow(ly) or it is hard.  Foundations are having to be laid right now, but I don't quite know what that entails or how to accomplish building trust within a community.  I have had the ability to spend quite a bit of time developing friendships and staying up into the wee hours of the morning, and it has been a blessing to be honest and open, as well as encouraged.  One praise report is that a guy from church sought me out yesterday because he wants to donate a vehicle... Praise God!  I need to find out more information on how all of that will come together, but I know that God is bringing conformation with the automotive ministry.  The Underground Fusion cell groups are building community and prayer support, and people are sharing their lives, hearts, victories, and struggles, which is another thing for which I thank God.  I do not know what my role will be with 51k, the high school ministry at Riverside, so I need to pray for clarity with that.  Vocationally, my options and outlook has not changed, so I trying to be as diligent as I can working for God, not men.  I am also praying for God to open up the doors on a place to live or buy in East Peoria as He sees fit.  Many things are out on the table, and as you read this (I you do), please ask God to guide me along this adventure.  Blessings, Adam

Hey there friends, how in the world are ya?  Life is going pretty well here in the realm in which I live.  I currently decided to become the head leader of the East Peoria Young Life... it wasn't an easy choice, but more peace and conformation are coming.  East Peoria has not had Young Life for about 4 years now, and there is only one youth pastor that I know of in that town and Creve Couerr, which shares the high school.  I am excited as well as a little overwhelmed, which I think is good because it keeps me from self-reliance.  The automotive ministry is moving along, and although we haven't had an inspection or oil change day yet, I know that God is using this in between time to prepare me as well as the others that are going to be involved.  With Riverside, we are soon moving the high school youth over to the Dreamcenter Building (Old YMCA), and Underground has started a new thing called Fusion, which a small groups based ministry which I think is going to just explode.  I recently applied for a job at Advanced Technlogy Systems in Mossville as a diesel engine tech, but as of right now the only position they have available is on 2nd  shift, which is 2-10pm, and I said I was not able because of the other responsibilities in my life right now.  I am also currently looking for a house or duplex, probably in East Peoria so that kids can stop by and hang out and whatnot.  Spiritually God has been great... His Word cuts to the heart and He restores my soul.  I stood in the face of tempation a lot this week and saw that I can overcome if I look to Him as my motivation.  So that is what is going on in the whirlwind life in which I live.  I hope that I hear from some of you soon, or perhaps those in the central IL area might be rocking it out at the Pumpkin Festival.  Anywho, be blessed so that you may be a blessing to those around you.

P.S.  If any of you are interested in checking into Young Life or the new Fusion groups on Thursday nights, give me a shout out.  Lata

I am back and possibly even better than ever... that is up for interpretation.  Life is somewhat in the balance for me these days as I have asked God to bring some direction and guidance into my life, and He has done that in a few ways.  The weird thing is that He may be leaving some things more open-ended than I expected.  Case in point... I went with my friend Isaac up to Willow Creek Community Church this weekend to check out the C.A.R.S. Ministry they have going on (www.willowcreek.org/cars), mainly asking God to help give the automotive ministry at the Dream Center some direction and vision as well as practical steps in beginning and actually moving into an active phase rather than just having meetings and talking about what could happen.  We received many pointers and much encouragement from Dan Hybels who runs the thing, and I am pumped.  I was challenged the next day by John Bevere that if my goal and vision for the future is attainable by my own strength, I am relying on sight and not faith and receiving the little bit of glory rather than a work of God receiving a huge amount of glory because I (and we, the auto team) couldn't have done it without Him moving mightily.  On top of all of that brewing around in my brain is the decision of where exactly my role might be in Young Life next semester and year, whether it is being a team leader somewhere, pioneering another school, or being trained and mentored in ministry and life.  I have thought much about the schooling thing in the fall as well taking Christian counselling classes, but I know that God will have to orchestrate my schedule.  I also am working with having a social life and sharing the amazing life God has given me with the friends around me.  So, as I said, God has given some direction, but many things are still out on the table, and who knows what a day may bring forth.  I am beyond realizing that I need to cultivate my spiritual life and I am actually to the point of acting on that realization.  I am excited to look back at this post in a few months and see how things have changed and how God has guided.
    Anywho, I am outta here.
    Peace, Adam
